Was intrigued by this mount after watching a YouTube video. So I bought one for my Yugo M24/47 8 mm and the Hi-Lux 2x7 scope. Installation was very quick following the instructions provide, figment of all the parts was excellent, bore sighted the scope and today zeroed the rifle. Our range is only 200 yards but was ringing steel from 74 to 200 yards. Great scope mount.

Installation was straight forward and simple, all the tools needed were provided, thus avoiding the often annoyance of needing to purchase more tools. I also appreciated the online tutorials BadAce provided online to exhibit how to remove the rear sight and leaf spring, which supplemented the written instructions. Mine was particularly difficult to remove due to the cosmoline and having that pointed out kept me pressing on. I didn't feel like I needed any special tools, vices or benchrests as well, which was a plus. Additionally, I greatly appreciate badace tactical highlighting the impact of tariffs on the cost of goods, as price gouging using the excuse of ongoing political happenstances (that often may be temporary) is frustrating, and so the transparency is refreshing. The generous discounts were also nice, and even without, I would have paid full price. Always a pleasure to support a Canadian business.

I received excellent assistance from the help personnel who were able to identify the correct mount for my 1955 Columbian Mauser. The scope mount retaining pin could have fit a bit more snug but was fine once the screws were tightened. The forward mounting, long eye relief scout scope, seemed odd at first but works exceptionally well. Many thanks to this Canadian company who made this no drill scope mounting quite easy to accomplish.

This short rail is well engineered, and well manufactured ; it was easy to install (and the instructions were clear and pretty good, especially in conjunction with the video) and works very well indeed. My application is a 1908 Brazilian short Mauser, with a reflex 2 minute red dot sight. Note that, with the original military stock, it was necessary to get a cheek riser. Great rail. It facilitated this long-thought-out sight modification perfectly. Thanks!

Tips:  How to remove the rear sight retaining pin

Not all models' rear sight leaves have a retaining pin. You should be able to see the retaining pin sticking out a little bit from the head of the rear sight leaf if there is one, such as this one:

The retaining pin is slightly longer than the rear sight leaf - this is to prevent it from being pressed down and removed. So, if your rear sight leaf has a retaining pin present, you must punch it out first.

Some models don't have retaining pins, such as this one below:

If that is the case, you can simply press down the rear sight leaf and remove it.
